10 Minutes D.I.Y Custom Clothes Peg

Tenho andado meio ausente daqui esses dias e desde já peço desculpas. Conciliar fim de semestre e outros projetos paralelos acaba sendo muito difícil, mas agora estando de férias da faculdade, tenho um tempinho livre pra me dedicar melhor ao blog.
E pra compensar minha ausência hoje eu trouxe um D.I.Y que é uma piada de tão fácil e rápido. Então vamos ao que interessa, né?!

Você vai Precisar de:

- Tinta(s) acrílica(s) da cor e marca de sua preferência
- Pincel
- Pregadores
- Glitter ou esmalte com glitter

Se você quiser aplicar o glitter você também vai precisar de cola, coloquei os esmaltes e a caixinha de glitter na foto só pra demonstração.

O processo é meio que auto explicativo, prático e bem fácil. É só aplicar a tinta desejada no pregador e esperar secar. Caso você queira fazer alguma sobreposição com  outra cor, é indicado reservar a área desejada com um durex, passar a cor base e esperar secar, depois, remova o durex e passe a outra cor de tinta na área reservada.

Para fazer as bolinhas eu usei um boleador, mas elas podem serem feitas tranquilamente com um palito de dente ou pincel bem fino, já para as listras eu usei o pincel fino.

Para fazer o efeito splash você precisa de um pincel de cerdas mais duras, caso não tenha, você pode usar também uma escova de dente. Aplique um pouco de tinta nas cerdas e passe o dedo sobre elas despejando tinta sobre o pregador.

É necessário que os pregadores estejam secos pra qualquer técnica que você pretenda usar, do contrário, as tintas podem se misturar ou borrar a tintura. O tempo de secagem pode levar de 5 a 10 minutos.

E voilá, gente. Seu pregador tá pronto e fofo e lindo!
É bom lembrar que, nessa época do ano, onde o natal tá quase batendo na nossa porta, esse D.I.Y dá uma linda lembrancinha de natal pra aquele amigo ou parente que adora colecionar fotos e/ou recados. Você pode acrescentar também lã para o varal ficar completo. E por falar nisso, nesse post aqui eu ensino como fazer lã colorida.

I've been distant from here these days and I would like to apologize already. Arrange end of semester and other side projects ends up being very difficult, but now as I'm in vacation, I will have more time free for the blog.
And to make up for my absence, today I brought a DIY that is a joke so easy and fast it is.

You will need:
- acrylic paint of color and brand of your own preference
- Brush(es)
- Clothes peg
- Glitter or nail polish with glitter

If you want to apply the glitter you will also need glue, I included the nail polish and the glitter box in the photo just for demonstration.

The process is kind of self explanatory, practical and easy. Just apply the desired paint on the clothes peg and allow it to dry. If you want to do some overlap with other color is indicated that you reserve the desired area with a scotch tape, apply the base color and allow it to dry, then remove the tape and pass the other color in the reserved area.
To make the polka dots I used this, but they also can be made with a toothpick or a very thin brush, as for the stripes I used the fine thin brush.
To make the splash effect you need a brush with hard bristles, if you don't have it, you can also use a toothbrush. Apply a little paint on the bristles and slide your finger over them pouring paint on the clothes peg.
It is necessary that clothes peg are dry to any technique you want to use, otherwise the paint can mix or blur the dye. The drying time may take from 5 to 10 minutes.

And voilá, folks. Your clothes peg are ready and fluffy and beautiful!
Remembering that at this time of year where Christmas is almost knocking at our door, this DIY gives a beautiful souvenir for that friend or relative who loves to collect photos and / or messages. Sunday and some covers

Todo mundo tem suas tradições de uma certa maneira, uma das minhas é ouvir Beatles todos os Domingos. Acredito que essa tradição nasceu da minha mania de associar bandas e filmes à dias da semana, períodos do dia e datas especiais (e antes que fique esquisito demais, vou parar por aqui). Mas, depois de ouvir "words of love" que, pra quem não sabe, é um cover que o quarteto fantástico fez do cantor Buddy Holly, fiquei lembrando da quantidade de cover legal que existe por aí e que, às vezes, são até melhores que a versão original e decidi fazer uma playlist pra vocês. E se vocês gostam de um bom cover tanto quanto eu, aperta o play aí e seja feliz!

E vocês, tem algum tipo de tradição semanal ou diária?

Everyone has their traditions in a way, one of mine is listen to Beatles every Sunday. I believe that this tradition was born from my way of associate bands and movies to days of the week, times of day and special dates (and before it gets too weird, I'll stop here). But after hearing "words of love" which, for those unaware, is a cover performed by the fab four of the singer Buddy Holly, I caught myself thinking in the amount of awesome covers that there is out there and, sometimes, they are even better than the original version. So i decided to make a playlist for you guys. And if you like good covers as much as I do, now all you need it press play  and be happy!

The Book of Inspirations

Recentemente eu vinha pensando bastante em processo de criação e como nossas referências são importantes nesse processo. É inegável que algumas das experiências que usamos como base em alguns trabalhos vem de momentos que guardamos apenas na memória, mas também fazemos uso de um monte de elementos visuais que estão ao nosso alcance no dia-a-dia, principalmente com a facilidade de acesso que temos à internet hoje em dia e sua vasta lista de sites e blogs que podem servir de inspiração.

Muita gente prefere usar os meios digitais para se inspirar ou pegar referência e apesar de achar mais prático de certa forma, eu prefiro coisas das quais eu possa pegar, ver, rever e levar comigo pra onde eu for sem me preocupar se tenho conexão com a internet, ou se meu computador tem que ser formatado ou se aquele trabalho, por alguma razão, foi excluído permanentemente da rede (vida longa e próspera ao analógico!). E foi a partir daí que pensei em criar um caderninho com possíveis referências pra usar em processo de criação.

Peguei revistas antigas que tenho aqui em casa e saí recortando tudo que gostei, depois lembrei que, às vezes, costumo guardar etiquetas, embalagens e caixas que contém algo que me interesse (sou dessas sim, não me julguem) e pensei: "porque não usá-las também?" Vale colar tudo que te servir de referência e que você possa recortar e colar no caderno. Você está limitado apenas pela sua própria imaginação.

Como costumo pensar até demais antes de fazer as coisas, decidi que iria fazer exatamente o oposto com esse caderninho, não penso, pego o que achar agradável aos meus olhos e que dê pra recortar e colo no caderno. Não precisa fazer sentido, não importa se é muito pequeno ou grande. Olhei, gostei, recortei, colei! Simples assim. E essas são algumas da páginas:

Ainda tô no comecinho e procurando mais coisas pra recortar e preencher o caderno, mas queria compartilhar logo com vocês e talvez servir de ideia para outras pessoas.

E só pra deixar claro: eu amo a internet e a praticidade das coisas digitais, mas algumas coisas são melhores, mais bonitas e especiais se analógicas.

Recently I've been thinking a lot about creative process and how our references are important in this process. It is undeniable that some of the experiences that we use as basis for some jobs come from moments that we can only keep in our memory, but we also use a lot of visual elements that are available in our everyday life, especially with the ease of internet access we have nowadays and it's long list of websites and blogs that are out there to inspire us.

Many people prefer to use digital resources to get references and stay inspired and despite finding it more practical in a way, I prefer things that I can take in my hands, see, review and take with me wherever I go without worrying if I have internet connection, or if my computer has to be formatted or if that work, for some reason, was permanently excluded from the network (live long and prosper analog!). And it was from there that I thought in creating a book with potential references to use in some of my creation process.

I took old magazines I have here at home and cut out everything I liked, then I remembered that sometimes, I keep labels, packaging and boxes if there's something that interests me (yes I am this kind of person, do not judge me) and I thought: "why not use them too? Everything that you see as a reference and that you can cut and paste in the book. You are only limited by your own imagination.

As I often think way too much before doing things, I decided I would do exactly the opposite with this book, I don't think, I take what my eyes find enjoyable and that are possible to cut and paste in the notebook. Doesn't need to make sense, doesn't matter if it is big or too small. I Looked, I liked, I cut, I pasted! Simple as that.

I'm Still in the beginning and looking for more things to cut and fill the notebook, but I just wanted to share with you guys and perhaps the idea will be useful to other people.

And just to be clear: I love internet and the practicality of digital things, but some things are better, more beautiful and special if analog.

D.I.Y Colorful Wool

Hoje eu vou mostrar pra vocês um dos D.I.Y's mais fáceis e rápidos da vida! Sério, seríssimo!
Como uma boa amante de projetos manuais, eu estou sempre tentando colocar um pouco de mim nas coisas que faço, seja nas minhas ilustrações, projetos pessoais, minhas fotografias ou presentes. Eu não são muito boa com palavras, então eu tento compensar isso criando coisas e adicionando nelas meu toque pessoal.

E quando o assunto é dar presentes uma das minhas partes favoritas é embalar eles. Além de achar divertido de fazer, eu amo como eles ficam quando embalados propriamente, só esperando conhecer o dono.
Apesar de a coisa mais importante pra mim ser o sentimento/contexo por de trás do presente que eu estou dando, eu gosto de tornar ele o mais pessoal possível e uma das minhas formas favoritas de embalar é com lã. Elas são bem acessíveis e simples de arranjar, mas fazer uma diferença positiva enorme na sua embalagem.
Mas agora vamos parar de conversa fiada e vamos ao que interessa, né?!

Para colorir sua lã com o caos do problema você vai precisar de:

Bem, lã branca. É importante que a lã seja branca, do contrário, você não vai obter a cor desejada.

Tinta(s) acrílica(s) da cor que você quiser.

Água.

Recipiente(s) para tingir. Eles podem ser pequenos, uma vez que você não precisa de muita água para tingi-los. E se você quiser tingir de mais de uma cor, você vai precisar de recipientes individuais para cada cor.

A luz já tinha ido embora quando eu tingi os meus, mas é um processo tão simples que não requer fotos.
E falando em processo:
A única coisa que você vai precisar fazer é, por uma quantidade pequena de água (pequena para evitar estragos, mas suficiente para cobrir o tamanho de lã que você deseja tingir, não se esqueça disso), uma quantidade pequena de tinta acrílica e mexer um pouco para que a tinta dissolva na água. E pronto!
Tudo preparado, é hora de mergulhar a lã no recipiente, se houver qualquer parte da lã em branco você pode mexer gentilmente o recipiente para que a cor seja distribuida igualmente no pedaço inteiro. Deixe descançar por um minuto ou dois, não precisa mais do que isso. E se certifique de espremer o excesso.

Depois pendure as lãs em algum lugar para que elas sequem, é preferível que que elas fiquem em algum lugar fora de casa, ou que você ponha jornais debaixo delas porque elas vão acabar pingando mesmo que você tenha tirado o excesso e isso vai fazer do chão uma bagunça, de qualquer maneira, se isso não for um problema pra você, apenas ignore essa dica.
Outra coisa importante é: se certifique de pendurar as lãs um pouco afastadas umas das outras porque, como elas ainda estão molhadas, há um grande chance delas mancharem ao se tocarem.

E é isso! Absurdo de fácil, né? O processo de coloração inteiro dura por volta de 8  a 10 minutos e o de secagem, cerca de 30 a 60 dependendo do quão arejado é o lugar que você pendurou sua lã.

Today I'm going to show you one of the easiest and quickest D.I.Y's ever. I really mean it!
As a lover of craft projects myself, I'm always trying to put a lit bit of me in the things I make, either illustrations, my shots or presents. I'm not that great with words, so I try to compensate that by creating things and adding on them my personal touch.

And when it comes to giving presents, one of my favorite parts is wrapping them. I find it very fun and I love how they look when they are properly packed, just waiting to meet their owner.
Even though the most important thing to me is the feeling/context behind that present I am giving, I like to make it more personal as possible and one of my favorite kinds of wrapping are the ones with wool. They are very accessible and simple to arrange, but can make a big positive change in your package.
But now let's stopping the talking and starting the making, shall we?

To color your wool with the chaos of trouble you will need:
Well, white wool. It's important that they are white, otherwise you won't achieve the desired color.
Acrylic paint of any color(s) you want.
Water.
A container to dye them. They can be small, once you need really small amount of water. And you will need an individual container for every color you want to use.

The light was gone already when I dyed them, but the process is so easy you won't need photos for that.
And speaking of process:
The only thing you need to do is, put a small amount of water in the container (small to avoid wasting, but enough to cover the size of wool you want to dye, don't forget that), a small quantity of acrylic paint and stir a bit so the ink can dissolve in the water.

All ready is time to dive your wool in the container, if there are any white parts in the wool still you can gently shake the container, so the color is distributed evenly in your entire piece. Let it rest for a minute or two, no need for more than that. And make sure to squeeze the excess away.

Then hang it somewhere to dry, preferably outside home or place some newspaper over your floor  because it will drip nevertheless in the drying process and will make your floor a mess, however, if that happens, it can be washed away easily, so if you don't mind, just disregard this tip.
Other important thing is: make sure to hang the wool a bit away from each other because, since they are still wet, they can cause undesirable stains in the other wool.

And that's it! Crazy easy, isn't it? The whole coloring process takes 8 to 10 minutes and drying takes 30 to 60 depending on how airy is the place you hung your, now, colored wool.

Breakfast & Colors

Sometimes life doesn't turn out as we expect and the fear of the unknown can turn our day a little gray. When this happens I like to add extra color to my days, and what is a best than combining colors and food?

Besides being fun to chew and make plain yoghurt a bit sweeter, sprinkles can contribute with additional beauty when stirred. Looks like you are about to eat rainbows.

Às vezes a vida não acontece como nós esperamos e o medo do desconhecido pode tornar nosso dia um tanto cinza. Quando isso acontece eu gosto de adicionar cores extras aos meus dias e qual melhor maneira pra que isso aconteça do que combinar cores e comida?

You are the cosmos

The cosmos is the sum of everything existing in the universe, from the starts to the molecules that make up our bodies. And it makes me amazed to think that somehow we are all connected one to another, as well as with the universe. We are a part of it. We are in the universe and the universe is inside us. 

Was thinking of it that I made the first illustration of what might become an outcome new series.

O cosmos é a totalidade de tudo existente no universo, das estrelas até as moléculas que formam nosso corpo. E isso me faz encantada de pensar que, de alguma forma, nós todos estamos conectados um ao outro, assim como todos estamos conectados ao universo. Nós todos somos uma parte dele. Nós estamos no universo e o universo está em nós.

Foi pensando nisso que eu fiz a primeira ilustração do que pode se tornar uma nova série de desenhos.
